We are thrilled to welcome Martha Crawford to the High Peaks Hospice family! Martha, a native of Hudson Falls, joined our team in March of 2025 as our new Volunteer Manager after a distinguished career as an educator. Her passion for helping others and her dedication to community service make her a perfect fit for our mission of providing compassionate end-of-life care.

Martha brings with her a wealth of experience, having taught seventh and eighth-grade Social Studies for over a dozen years in New Britain, Connecticut. Prior to that, she began her teaching career at Queensbury High School in 1993, following the completion of her Master’s degree in Liberal Studies at Plattsburgh State University. A lifelong learner, Martha furthered her education with two additional Master’s degrees in Curriculum Instruction and Teaching English Learners from the American College of Education.

Beyond her impressive academic and professional achievements, Martha has been an active participant in numerous community service projects. She has served on several fundraising boards and has been a dedicated member of both the New Britain Federation of Teachers Children’s Enrichment Fund and the Alpha Delta Kappa international charitable organization.

After living in New Britain for over 25 years, Martha and her husband of 29 years, Bob, recently moved back to the Glens Falls area. They are proud parents to two grown sons—Mac, who resides in Los Angeles, and Bill, who lives in Glens Falls. In her spare time, Martha enjoys cooking and is an avid reader.

We are honored to have Martha as part of our team and look forward to the positive impact she will bring to High Peaks Hospice. Please join us in giving her a warm welcome!
