Meet Rick Bergeron!
Rick joined us as a volunteer on September 3, 2015. Rick grew up in southern Maine and moved to the area in 1973. He is retired from the field of Engineering/General Contracting. He has two wonderful daughters and 2 grandchildren whom he is very proud of.
Rick is not only a Volunteer for HPH but also a Board Member. He is also the President of the Board for Nearcare which he has been part of for the last 9 years. He has volunteered as a Bell ringer for Salvation Army, worked with North Country Ministry, he’s a Eucharistic Minister for the hospital, and is an on-call Pastoral Chaplain. You can also hear him play in the Hand Bell Choir for the Our Lady Annunciation Church. If you made it to the festival of trees this year you could have heard him and the choir. Rick is also starting a Men’s Grief Support online group for men through HPH in December!
Aside from all of Rick’s Volunteer and community outreach he enjoys traveling. In the Spring of 2022, Rick walked the Camino De Santiago in Spain! Talk about an adventure! Rick walked 500 miles in 5 weeks! He is contemplating another trek in Portugal in 2024. We wish him success in all his adventures to come.
Rick doesn’t have to travel for exercise though, he enjoys walking 5-7 days a week averaging 44-55 miles weekly. He likes to snowshoe, spin bike, kayak, and bicycling. On a quiet day at home though you might catch him reading a good mystery.
Thank you Rick for being part of the HPH team and making a difference!
